Sam Omatseye Hits the Road with Juju Eyes – A Literary Tour Across Nigeria

Celebrated writer and journalist Sam Omatseye is back in the spotlight — not just for his sharp pen but for his feet-on-the-ground book tour promoting his latest novel, Juju Eyes. The veteran columnist is taking his storytelling directly to the people, and from all signs, the people are listening.

From the bustling halls of Lagos State University (LASU) to the vibrant literary corners of Rovingheights Bookstore, Omatseye is drawing crowds — not just readers, but students, professors, curious minds, and lovers of African literature.

Juju Eyes isn’t just another novel. It’s a richly woven tale that dives into the mystical and cultural undercurrents of Nigerian society. With its blend of folklore, history, and sharp social commentary, the book is stirring up conversations wherever it’s read.

At one event at UNILAG, Omatseye read a particularly intense passage from the book — the room went silent. Then came the questions, the debates, and even a few nods of recognition from audience members who saw their own communities reflected in his pages.

The tour has become more than just a promotional run. It’s a dialogue, a classroom, and in some ways, a kind of cultural revival. As he moves from city to city, the conversations deepen — about storytelling, identity, and the ever-evolving Nigerian narrative.

For book lovers and literature enthusiasts, this is more than just a chance to meet an author — it’s a chance to experience the power of Nigerian literature in real time.
