For those unfamiliar with the Caine Prize, it is an annual award that celebrates outstanding short stories by African writers published in English. Named after the late Sir Michael Caine, the prize has become a prestigious platform for recognizing literary talent across the continent.
Let’s delve into the backgrounds of these remarkable judges:
The shortlisted stories and their authors will be unveiled in mid-July. Each writer on the shortlist will receive £500, and the ultimate winner will be awarded £10,000. The judges will convene in September to select the winner, who will be celebrated at an award ceremony in London later in 2024.
